A mother lode of inspiration

Located in Central Queensland, Kestrel Coal is one of the world’s largest metallurgical coal producers. The company covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation.

Kestrel came to us looking for a brand refresh, including an evolution of the logo, style guide, photography suite and communications guide to establish a consistent internal and external voice. We didn’t have to dig far to find our inspiration. The machines, the landscapes and the mine itself are all bigger than life. It made it easy to create a series of stunning landscape and machinery images as well as aspirational environmental portraits to hero Kestrel’s people. The resulting suite truly captured the length, width – and depth – of who Kestrel is, what they do and why they do it.

The imagery and new brand were rolled out across internal assets like report templates, the website and even a good old-fashioned wall calendar! We love working with our partners at Kestrel. We’ve only scratched the surface of what we can do together!
