Meet the Wonderkin – Jim Strachan

Senior Creative & Copywriter

Another Wonderkin who presents with more than three decades of experience is Senior Creative Jim. Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, Jim’s voyage to faraway places commenced after securing a wealth of curiousness working at several high-profile North American advertising agencies and honing his concept and strategy skills.

Jim’s journey through time includes embarking on earlier expeditions through Wellington, New Zealand and Sydney, Australia before finally calling Brisbane home. Before our Wonder Room was discovered, Jim worked with our founder Nick Deane at his earlier creative agency, Decoder. Jim has also shared his creative magic with First Nations-owned agencies and worked with clients in the Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Samoan Island markets.

Based at our Brisbane Wonder Room, Jim spends time away from our museum coaching youth baseball and ice hockey. Although he holds Australian citizenship, he only recently became a “Real Aussie” after working the grill at a Bunnings sausage sizzle!
